Acoustic jazz at Le Charme: an evening in the tradition of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli

Some encounters feel inevitable. Le Charme's meeting with Thibault, Robin Pouvreau and Daniel John Martin is one of them. Three musicians, a repertoire rooted in the great tradition of Parisian jazz manouche, and a space that never needed an excuse to bring its neighbours together. On 22 May, Le Charme opens its doors for a free-entry acoustic jazz evening.

Three musicians, one world

Thibault and Robin Pouvreau on guitar, Daniel John Martin on violin. Together, they form a trio whose music draws directly from the legacy of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, the two giants who invented a French jazz of their own: swinging, virtuosic, deeply felt. A living, warm jazz, made to be played in intimate spaces where the music moves freely between the musicians and their audience.

The evening takes place at Le Charme, on rue Vergniaud in the 13th arrondissement, steps from the Butte-aux-Cailles. Free entry with consumption. A simple, generous format, in keeping with what we love to do at Le Charme: open the house, let the neighbourhood in, and create the conditions for a moment unlike any other.
