More than just a trend, it’s a way of life. Eating should be a moment of joy and sharing, and a way of taking care of our physical bodies, all at the same time. A mix of imposing emotion and furtive digestion. It’s a challenge for our chefs to cater for all diets, from vegan to raw food and from low-carb to paleo, lactose-free or gluten-free.
Oh quintessential 7th arrondissement of Paris, tell us all about your favourite restaurants for special diets and healthy eating.

Where can you eat out as a vegetarian in the 7th arrondissement of Paris?

In the land of foie gras, it took several years for vegetarians to make their voices heard, especially to reach as far as the kitchens of top restaurants. Fortunately, vegetarianism is the norm in more exotic cuisines.

What is vegetarianism?

No, being vegan is not the same as being vegetarian. Vegetarians don’t eat fish, meat or shellfish. Nothing made from the animal itself. However, they will happily eat products yielded via animals: milk, honey, eggs, etc.

List of (very good) restaurants offering vegetarian dishes in the 7th arrondissement of Paris

Vegetarians know that if they don’t specify their diet when booking, they can always have pasta with cheese sauce, or the traditional warm goat’s cheese salad.
Or they can go for Indian, Asian or Lebanese food.

The Ministry of Spice, 22 avenue Dusquene

A stone’s throw from the Champ de Mars, and therefore the Eiffel Tower, this Indian restaurant plays around with fusion food using traditional dishes. What sticks in the mind is the thousand flavours, the refined dishes offered and, of course, the extensive vegetarian menu. A restaurant worthy of the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The restaurant is open every day except Sunday, at mealtimes. It’s advisable to book a table.

Lili Wang, 40 avenue Duquesne

We’re getting closer to Les Invalides, on a particularly leafy main road in the 7th arrondissement. The Lili Wang restaurant is a highly successful Asian interlude. As a tribute to a 1950s Shanghai cabaret dancer who mysteriously disappeared, the restaurant takes on the plush aesthetics of the era and offers the experience to vegetarians, too. Be aware that while eating there you may rub shoulders with French public figures eating the “tiger’s tears” that you’ll find on the menu.
Lili Wang is open every day from midday to midnight and non-stop at weekends.

Le restaurant Chiquette, hôtel 5 Codet

A restaurant and bar area with a patio hidden away in a 5* hotel, where you can enjoy refined cuisine with vegetarian dishes on the menu, all in an atmosphere of Gallic luxury. Yes, it’s possible! Thank you to Hotel Codet for making it happen.

Vegetarian food all over the 7th arrondissement of Paris

We know from experience that vegetarians should always call ahead to say that they are coming, to make sure all goes well, especially if you want to check out the finest terraces in Paris. Even Michelin-starred restaurants will go off-menu to rustle up something unique, just for you. No vegetarian has every been turned away.

Where can you eat out as a pescetarian in the 7th arrondissement of Paris?

Most people see you as a vegetarian who eats fish and seafood. And therefore easier to please. Yet there aren’t many fish restaurants in the luxury bracket. Fortunately, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, a few stand out.

What is pescetarianism?

Pescetarians are not against eating animals, but feel that meat is bad for human health, whereas fish and shellfish provide the same nutrients and proteins.

The list of top fish and seafood restaurants in the 7th arrondissement of Paris

Here are a few names of restaurants whose cuisine is not limited to the traditional oyster bar. All of them exceptional.

Petrossian, 13 boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg

Brilliantly executed by Petrossian in its restaurant that opened in 2018. Tarama, salmon and sturgeon form the basis of a menu that also includes rack of suckling pig and fillet of beef. Petrossian is eclectic, but closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Le Divellec, 18 rue Fabert

With a Michelin star, it’s all plain sailing here. Lobster, crab, sardine rillettes, monkfish, rock lobster… That’s a haul that will satisfy the taste buds of even the most discerning pescetarian. Fish and seafood lovers are welcome 7 days a week for all meals.

Where can you eat out as a vegan in the 7th arrondissement of Paris?

The vegan diet is choosy enough to cover raw-food, gluten-free, lactose-free and low-carb diets.

What’s a vegan diet?

That’s right, it’s the one whose consumers get to be called, succinctly, vegan. Vegans follow a plant-based diet. So it cuts out all animal products, including those produced via animals. Out with milk, eggs and honey as ingredients.

A list of the few vegan restaurants in Paris

These restaurants are generally fairly small and therefore have limited capacity. Note that most of them offer brunch. Here are our two favourite ones.

Apéti, 21 bis avenue de Ségur

Nothing less than the first fruit and vegetable temple in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The idea arose out of a career in fashion, where healthy eating is an absolute priority.
So it’s organictoo, and gluten-free (the boss also has a bakery that makes its own flour) as well as seasonal. A quintessential eatery for vegans. Open from 12 noon to 9.30 p.m., 7 days a week. It’s best to book a table.

Zia, 22 avenue de Tourneville

With its gluten-free and vegan dishes, the restaurant could cater for the whole world. But it only has a few tables, which often get snapped up quickly for brunch. Which is why it opens early, 7 days a week, but is closed in the evening.
